Sculptures on the Scheldeboulevard 2015: International Art Exhibition in the open air. July 4, 2015 – August 30, 2015

Opening: Saturday, July 4th at 13.00 in the hall of the municipality of Terneuzen.
From July 4th I take part in this international sculpture exhibition in Terneuzen. The Schelde flows here in all its grandeur, the huge dikes and the great town hall of architect Jaap Bakema form the decor. At the entrance of the town hall, in the middle of a lavender field,  the sculpture “Harold, the Bronze man” will be placed. We’re going to put it on a frame so that it is carried by the lavender. A great location with which I’m very happy!

Press Release Sculptures on the Scheldeboulevard

For the sixteenth year in a row the municipality of Terneuzen, the artists’ collective Joseph Pannecoucke and the Working Group New Images organize
Sculptures in the open air on the Scheldeboulevard. The province of Zeeland also supports the initiative. Furthermore, this year, some private sponsors
expressed willingness to financially support the Sculpture Route. These are the Scheldetheater, Brasserie Westbeer, AVS, Stories TV and Tekstbeeldgroep.

Sculptures on the Scheldeboulevard will take place from Saturday, July 4th until Sunday, August 30th at and around Scheldeboulevard in Terneuzen. The Passerelle of the town hall will, in line with the annual outdoor exhibition, host an ‘indoor exhibition’.
The official opening ceremony of the Sculpture Route 2015 is performed by Alderman Frank Deij and takes place on Saturday, July 4th at 13.00 in
Passerelle of City Hall in Terneuzen. Interested parties are welcome to attend.

Terneuzen has invited nationally and internationally known artists to participate in this for Zeeland unique open air exhibition. Artists whose work can be seen include Joerie Stubbe, Brigitta C. P. Nand.R, Stefaan Ponette, Annick Vandenabeele, Caroline Callens, Julie Verhelst, Stef Orti, Veerle De Smet, J. Pan, Eddy De Buf, Willem Harbers, Lon Pennock, Fabian vor Spreckelsen, Ronald Westerhuis, Anneke de Witte, Gjalt Blaauw, Alinda Ottens, Anja ter Waarbeek and Dick Box.

The setting for this exhibition is formed by a special trail: the dike that forms the border between country and Westerschelde. The water forms a background always in motion and that makes the sculpture trail as uniek. What makes the outdoor exhibition so special furthermore is the fact that
sculptors collective Joseph Pannecoucke can be seen at work live. This happens every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 16:00.
The colorful brochure on the sculpture trail is available at the desk of the City Hall of the municipality of Terneuzen, the tourist office and Brasserie West Beer on the Scheldeboulevard.
